Da un asse all'altra avanzavo
così lenta,prudente.
Sentivo le stelle sul capo,
e sotto i piedi il mare.

Questo solo sapevo:un altro passo
poteva essere l'ultimo.
Ed avevo quell'andatura incerta
che chiamano esperienza.

I stepped from Plank to Plank
a slow and cautius way
the stars about my Head i felt
about my Feet the Sea.

I knew not but the next
wouldgave me thet precarius Gait
some call Experience.
